School Benches: Our schools in Kenya and Pakistan are growing and the numbers of children attending are increasing. More children need more equipment. The greatest need at present is for desks for the children to work at. Each desk comes with a bench attached, can accommodate three children and costs £20 to buy.
£20 buys a desk for the school, and a certificate for the donor. Donors can keep this for themselves, or make a gift of it to a loved one. Or why not join together with friends and raise £20 between you?
Whatever you can give will be gratefully received by the schools. Together, we can build a future for the children.

Kenya. The primary school now has 105 children registered. As well as an education, the children are given one nutritious meal a day. For some, it is all they will eat. We need sponsors to help the children at the school. The first Cross Cultural Community Worker Course was attended by eight students.
Nigeria. With 190 million people, Nigeria is the most densely populated country in Africa. There is great need here, poverty and HIV/AIDS is rife. Our team work with disadvantaged and handicapped people and street children. They also reach out to Togo and other places in West Africa.
Togo. One of the poorest and highest in HIV infections. They run a day care centre and school for the many needy children. Needed £15,000
India. We have two hostels in operation, one for boys and one for girls. We have started work on construction of a Vocational Training College where the children will learn skills to equip them for work after they graduate from school.
Afghanistan. We run a carpet weaving co-operative where women can earn enough to feed their families. We import the carpets into England where we sell them, using the proceeds to fund the Children’s Day Care Centre. Some of the children at the centre have a talent for painting and we sell their work, enabling them to contribute to family finances. Sponsors are needed so more children can attend the centre.
Sierra Leone. Although the civil war is over, the people still suffer its aftermath. Many are starving. Children in school “sell” bites of apple for favours to starving classmates, and wrap part of their school-provided lunch to take home to their families. Many people have so little they cannot guarantee even one meal a day for their children. To feed a child a meal a day at school costs £5 a month, and we need people to help fund this programme.
Uganda. A much traumatised people and WIN is in the midst of it. George Amoli helps the many women and children who have been shocked by the death and destruction they have seen. Recently he lost all his office equipment as thieves broke into the house at night.
Needed: new office equipment £3000, HIV prevention campaign. £3355
Azerbaijan. Respiratory illness is a big problem – every family seems to have a seriously ill person, meaning medical bills and an inability to work. WIN sponsors families, helping them survive and allowing the children an education that brings hope for the future. Rough terrain and vast distances to travel mean our director, Tofiq, needs a new vehicle. We are raising funds for this, and need £3000.
Philippines. WIN runs a school situated on Smoky Mountain, a large, burning rubbish tip four hours drive from Manila. The smoke can be seen from Manila. Thousands live on this tip. Little children wander barefoot through the burning garbage, picking their way over broken glass, searching for things their parents can sell. Our school provides these children with an education that brings hope. We need sponsors for these children. The recent typhoons hit Smoky Mountain, causing mud slides that buried homes made of cardboard and plastic. The school is an emergency shelter but the situation is desperate and funds are badly needed.
Thailand. In Thailand WIN supports Sister Faye. She is an evangelist who has been working in Thailand for many years. Her future plans include starting a new Sunday fellowship for ten families in a small community, and establishing an English and Fellowship Centre near Hatyai City.

Vital projects need your help
and restore life
Our child sponsorship programme, Restored Lives, began after the Kurds in Halabja were gassed. Now we help children and families on every continent.
Unwanted shares?
You can get rid of these charitably by donating them to ShareGift (registered charity 1052686), an independent charity which specialises in accepting small holdings of shares, particularly those which are not worth selling because that would cost more than they are worth. ShareGift distributes its funds to other UK charities and over 1,000 UK charities have already benefited, including World In Need.
